Her undergraduate degree was started at Miami University and completed it at the University of Kentucky.  Karen started her Masters degree at The Ohio State University and completed it at Ashland University. She has been married 25 years to Cort Bradbury. They have two sons, Rob and Tim.

In addition to her teaching, Karen is active in the computer club and oversees the school garden at Alum Creek Elementary. In her spare time Karen and Cort enjoy playing mixed doubles tennis. When their two sons left the nest they "replaced" them with two dogs.

October Educator of the Month

Denise “Denny” Devine received her undergraduate degree in elementary education and special education from Wittenburg University, Tiffin, OH.  She earned her masters degree in education with the handicapped from The Ohio State University.

A teacher for 37 years, Denny has taught in the Bexley School District since 1978. Currently she serves as a special education teacher in Bexley's Maryland Elementary School.

In addition to her work as a teacher Denny is very involved in serving her community.  She is president of the St. Vincent dePaul Society, an organization that collects and distributes food, collects furniture and provides assistance to families who need help paying rent and utility bills.  During the holidays they 'adopt' 20 needy families. She also services her community as a member of "DARN" which stands for Developmental Assets Resource Network.  DARN also provides resources to families in need.

During her "spare time" she enjoys working in her yard and rooting for her favorite pro football team, The Pittsburgh Steelers. Denny is married to Pat.  They have 4 children and 3 grandchildren.

Thanks from the salvation army

A BIG RED KETTLE THANKS from THE SALVATION ARMY. Thank you for organizing your team to ring the bell this season. Please pass on our thanks to your bell ringing group, we appreciate everyone’s time, energy and support!

Your group raised over $478.69 in kettle donations, a big kettle day!

Next year I will sign you up early at Sancus!

Donations from your kettle stay in Central Ohio and help people all year. This year we are especially in need of funding to help families with basic needs and your team can be assured we efficiently use these donations to make an impact in our community.

Hope you and your team have a blessed holiday and thank you again for the gift of time and support to help those in need.
